Photoshop Friday

I love photoshop! I have had a blog in the past where I gave little tips on fun things to do in Photoshop and I thought I would continue it on this blog. I will hopefully do it every Friday. If you have suggestions on what you'd like to see, let me know. I have to tell you I am in no way an expert, I just know what I like to do and I have researched hours trying to figure it all out and would love to share it. I'm going to start with taking some of my old posts from my other blog and putting them on here.

I wanted to start with one of my all time favorite tools in Photoshop....cloning. I use the clone tool on almost every picture. Cloning allows you to cover up something you don't like in your image by copying (cloning) the surrounding area.

I am using a picture that I had to add my own graffiti for demonstration purposes.

You can click on the image to make it bigger. You'll want to find the cloning tool. This is from Photoshop Elements but is the same in Photoshop. Click on the cloning tool.

Now go to the part you want to cover up, you'll want to choose an area surrounding the bad part of the picture that you'll want to clone (copy) to cover it up. You may have to get click close to the bad part in order to get a true reflection of what it should look like. Once you find an area you want to copy hit the alt+left mouse button. You can now start clicking your left mouse over the area that you are trying to erase.

And there you have it, a clean, ready to frame image. Super easy and super necessary. Enjoy!

Birthdays

We just celebrated my little ones first birthday. I have to admit that I am pretty lazy when it comes to birthdays....well with anything but I went a little crazy on this one because it will be our last first birthday. I was able to find some great digital owl images from Eyesview and some awesome digital paper from goodnessandfun. They both have really cool items and super cheap. I also got some adorable straws for our margaritas from isakayboutique. If you haven't been to Etsy, go now. It's the most fantastic place to get all things handmade and vintage. I not only have a shop there, but I buy a ton of stuff from there and have always been satisfied. The sellers are the best and super eager to please.

I made some water bottle stickers custom with our theme for the evening. You can get the labels for a decent price from online labels. And as a bonus for ordering the labels you get a free trial to maestro which is an awesome online label creator. It made it so easy and was fairly inexpensive.
Mr. A made some delicious margaritas for the adults. We used sugar rimmed glasses with a lime on the edge and adorable pink and white candy cane striped straws (not pictured but adorable!)
This stand could not have been any easier to make, or cheaper (my daughter calls me cheap, cheap, cheap as if a bird was chirping) I got the plates on discount at Walmart for $1.00 each. The glasses weren't my first choice but worked in a time and money crunch. They were also $1.00 from Walmart. Then I used E600 glue to glue it together. Super easy, super cheap, and I think it's really cute.

The thank you's are bubblegum ball filled bags with the owl used in our theme in the center of a flower. I printed the owl and thank you for coming to the part text on a sticker and then punched it out with a circle die cutter then stuck it on a flower cut with a die as well. Easy!
